Is it possible to be a natural wine Super Tuscan? Well, if so then I Luoghi is it.

Stefano and his wife Paolo come from very different backgrounds. She, a one-time student of viticulture from a wine producing family and he an electrical engineer. Between them they have sought to achieve low yielding vines without having to use extreme cluster thinning. Pruning choices and decisions based on the terroir are, as ever, extremely important, but they have also acknowledged the importance of Mother Nature. In one vineyard, Pineta di Carolo, it is the pheasants (protected from local hunters) who routinely pass through, ‘thinning’ the clusters!

Fermentation takes place in stainless steel and it is only the free run juice that goes into the final wine that is then aged in French oak. The wines have no sulphur added and are not filtered.
