Loire

A wine making region that runs some 300 miles from west to east, the Loire Valley boasts some of the most picturesque vineyards in the whole of France. Happily, the wines are as stylish as their surroundings, and within our modest listing we think you’ll taste some of the finest the region has to offer. These include the unsurpassable Chinon’s from Pascal Lambert and the subliminally sweet Coteaux du Layon from Sablonettes, both of which have incredible ageing potential.

Another Cuvée/daughter from Pascal this one from clay limestone soils (millarge and truffeau) vines aged 10-20 years, 85% are in Chinon and 15% on Cravant. Maceration of the harvest 30 to 40 days with a 12-month aging in oak barrels of 500 liters which 1/3 is new, followed by a flock of 5 to 6 months in tank.
